ACT I / THE EPILOGUE / BIRDBRAIN BY Emily Mast

Dear viewer,
In this new series of shows we open as a theater.

Through artifice, effect and drama, our new topic begins with the idea that a Set is the threshold between something real and the beginning of a fiction. It is the purgatory of experience lingering between these two stages. The point of entry at which we transition from seeing to imagining.

The disentangling of this thought will come about in three shows: The Academy, The Props and The Epilogue... but not in that order.

On Thursday August 16th at 8pm please join us for the first of these acts with B!RDBRA!N (Epilogue), the deconstruction of a performance by Emily Mast.
B!RDBRA!N is a series of vignettes that form a “live collage”. In it, seven performers ranging in age from 6 to 60 , explore language as a prop onto which we project meaning.
The B!RDBRA!N set and rehearsals will be on view through our windows and closed doors starting the eve of July 25th, and changing on a nightly basis.

You see, Theatricality** is a loaded gun and in this case, we'll have to accept its definition as provisional, contingent upon it's audience.
That is you.

Your fool,
PF

psssss: B!RDBRA!N, the play, will be performed at the NOW festival at REDCAT on August 9th, 10th and 11th at 8:30pm.
