"The Plaza" by Public Fiction with Luke Fischbeck and "The Possible Chronicles" by Sarah Rara.

Dear reader,

From March until May 2014, please join us at the UC Berkeley Art Museum for The Possible,

An experiment curated by David Wilson.

Part studio, classroom, library, gallery, and stage, The Possible turns the museum into a living space in

which participants are actively making "potential into form.”

The Possible re-conceives the museum as a site for producing; in fact, it opened in January as a series of

empty "platforms” which are being used and reshaped during the run of show.

Public Fiction, in this instance Luke Fischbeck and Lauren Mackler, will produce the exhibition’s catalogue,

of the same name.

During these three months, we will take residency in the library and you will find us in the form of a “plaza”

(a set of odd-shaped pedestals) on which we can re-photograph and re-organize pieces of the show.
In this space, and ultimately in the book, we will be colliding the museum’s history of exhibitions with

The Possible’s new production, using the building as common ground between them.

Currently on view at the plaza: Daniel Buren's STALACTIC/STALAGMITIC:

A DRAWING IN SITU AND THREE DIMENSIONS, 1979

(his iteration of the Space As Support series) and Joan Jonas’ Organic Honey's Visual Telepathy (1972)

You will find a full list of The Possible participants at the above link.

We hope you can join us.

From Berkeley, and until soon-
PF
